What is it that you want? What are you striving towards; why do you strive for this? Why do you do the things you do? I used to want ‘success’, whatever that means… I used to want material wealth to excess, because I thought it would bring me what I wanted, what I needed; happiness, peace from my anxieties. How sorely was I mistaken. I soon came to understand that all I needed is, and always was inside me. Trite? cliche? Perhaps, however nonetheless true, at least in my experience, and in the experience of the ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu. All happiness exists inside the present moment, fully experiencing the stimuli of the now; ceasing to allow myself to be undistracted by the ramblings of the monkey mind.
Presence.

I'm a man who is trying to improve the world. I know this is an arduous task, however, broken down logically it isn't so complicated. The world is made up of individual humans. Change a human, change a part of the world. Start with yourself. View all posts by Lao Tzu
